O!lite A light emitting diode (LED) is a semicondcutor device that emits visible light when an electrical current passes through it, it is a special kind of diode.

Most LEDs are monochromatic. Light color is associated with the light wavelength. LEDs made with different semiconductor materials emit lights in different wavelength thereby acheving assortment of colors from red, green, blue and white. Wider spectrum of colors can be acheive by driving different color LEDs place together.

Yes and No. LEDs have increasingly been used in many different applications to replace old incandescent light bulbs. Examples include LED indicator lights for all kinds of electronics devices such as cell phone, automotive dash panel, LCD backlit etc. As currently available LEDs have limited brightness, in special case, LEDs cannot be used in areas that require high level of illumination like a sport stadium. LEDs technology is constantly evolving and improving and in years to come such limitations will be overcome as demand for greener lighting increases.

There are several advantages LEDs have over traditional incandescent lights. They are as follows:

Small Size - LEDs small size make it ideal for illumination low profile object without the need to custom made bulky looking housing to house the lightings. Recessed areas that previously unable to illuminate by conventional  incandescent or florescent can be address by LEDs.
Cold Light - LEDs does not emit infrared (heat) or ultraviolet (UV) radiation. LEDs provide excellent illumination for precious artpiece or historic artefact as they requires delicate lighting as not to cause any deterioration or aging.
Full Color - Spectrum, Full Color Temperature LED lights can emit complete spectrum of light by adjusting the Red, Green, Blue (RGB) combination. They provide the opportunity to bring up the best in any display be it Art piece or any product.
Highly - Controllable LED provide the technology for easy control of lighting system, be it for color mixing or color switching, real time image display or a fully intelligent building cotrol for optimum "power saving" result
Energy - Efficient LED will be the most energy efficient light in the the near future. It has reached the efficiency level of Fluorescent tubes and will surpass it in the next years.
True Green - Lighting O!lite products used genuine OSRAM LEDs that are ROHS certified meaning that O!lite products does not contain any poisonous heavy metals like Lead or Mecury that can be found
Long - Lifespan Typical lifespan of good LEDs like OSRAM's is 50,000 hours. If based on usage of usage of 8 hours a day, 365 days a year meaning you do not need to replace the LED light for 10 years.
